From Diane

This card was made for me by my lovely friend Diane (of Crafty Ducks fame)

The Baroque Motif swirl was clear embossed onto Pool Party and was teamed with Night of Navy and More Mustard for a sophisticated colour combo.

The flower image was made with a single stamp: Triple Flower. The stamp works with three different punches which is great in terms of versatility.

Thanks Diane!

Happy Birthday Harry

One of Munchkin's favourite people goes to the same childminder as her: Harry. She was honoured to be invited to help the little chap celebrate his fourth birthday. Here's the card I made for him:

The stars are made using the 5 petal flower punch and then trimming off the curves to create stars. Mini brads added masculine sparkle and White embossing made the greeting pop.

Personally I spent a lot of yesterday out geocaching with my lovely friend Ruth. We found about 14 geocaches on a three walk. One of the coolest things I saw on this trip was this camp:

Who wouldn't have loved to have such a cool hideout as a kid?

Today we visited my sis in Marylebone. Munchkin is always glad to see her Aunty:

We had some delicious Indian fusion street food! Lamb tikka burger and banana chips:

Munchkin enjoyed mango juice and plain rice:

All in all a fun day out!

Patchwork owl

As it's getting close to the end of Saleabration I've been making the most of the freebies I've accumulated. This one is based on a card I saw on Pinterest by Sarah Klass.

It's got a Poppy Parade base with Everyday Enchantment punched squares to make a quilted background. The words come from Outlined Expressions and the owl is from the main catalogue set, Fox & Friends. A little pearl and lace and voilĂ  it's finished!!!

Hope you're going to do something nice today. We are takin Immy to her first friend's birthday party where we aren't invited. How exciting!

Lacy heart

Today I have a card using an unusual colour combination for me: Island Indigo, Cajun Craze & Certainly Celery.

The background is En Francais stamped in versamark ink to give a tone on tone look.

To make the lacy heart I punched a heart out and then layered some lace border punched pieces behind the image. To add some interest I used a marker to draw on stitching.

Now, for the Munchkin fans, here are a couple of holiday snaps:

Eating DAIRY ice cream. She loved it but we certainly paid the price for ignoring her intolerance. Looking at that picture though, it seems worth it.

Next is a picture of Munchkin en route. She found the car journey tough but her trusty notebook and colouring pencils distracted her.

Variations

Here's a card I CASE'd from Crafting Clare. I love her designs!

Obviously I couldn't resist a little play. The stamped background uses the Fruit & Flowers set in the Spring mini catalogue. Below is a colour variation where Pool Party was swapped for Wisteria Wonder.

The words are a Saleabration set Outlined Expressions. The words are embossed in White and then coloured using darker toned marker to make them pop.

I absolutely love this design and it would be fabulous to make a set of cards as a gift using the person's favourite colours.

Scrapbook Club

Here's the page we made this month:

It's a variation on a page shown by Shannon at the Stampin Up! Convention in Paris back in November. Any excuse to use some Saleabration papers!!!

To make the glittery letters I used scrap card covered with sticky sheets. These were then run through alphabet dies I had in my stash on my Big Shot. Once these were cut you can peel off the other sticky side and dip them into glitter. We used chunky glass glitter in champagne (gold) colour.

Thank you ladies for attending! If you'd like to join us next time we are meeting on Tuesday 10th April.

Blue birthday

Hello! I've had a short break from
crafting and blogging so
I'm back with something new:

The base is Marina Mist with Soft Suede Top Note and features Elementary Elegance. This is a Saleabration set and there are only a few days left before Saleabration ends and this set will no longer be available.

The frame image was stamped in versamark and embossed in White. This was then sponged over with Soft Suede ink to make the image show up. To finish there are strips of ribbon and lace.

Hope you liked the project. It's great to back and crafting!!

Bonjour!

Oui I'm in France! A las minute opportunity arose for myself and Munchkin (DH had to stay at home alone due to work). We took the ferry to Caen and are staying in a gorgeous hotel on Bayeux.

It's been a bit chilly but Munchkin has kept herself warm:

It's a very quaint little town and we have even squeezed in some geocaching. Here is the impressive cathedral:

However it is mothers Day and as we are here with my parents I cannot let the day pass without some celebration. I've altered a card taught to me by my friend Jade.

Originally the greeting was 'happy birthday' bit I used Teeny Tiny Wishes to switch it to 'happy mother's day'.

The really cool thing about the plant pot card is that the centre pulls out for a greeting to be written on:

It was great to use Vintage Vogue so thanks Jade! Let's hope my Mum likes it when I give it to her later.

CASE night

Last night I had an impromptu craft night with one of my bestest buds. I was a bit tired so
I did some more CASE-ing with tweaks.

This card is made with Fresh Vintage as well as the Saleabration papers. Originally designed by Debbie Modrowsky. I altered it by using linen thread and an in color patterned brad.

This was a CASE originally by Monica Gale. She made the main image using the Babywipe Swipe technique. However I don't have any Reinkers in those colours, so I tried to get the effect with pens. I think it worked.

This last one was a bit of an experiment. Based on a design by Btonwyn Eastley I changed it to Wisteria Wonder and added a incolor patterned brad instead on a vintage instead. These would be v cute as name place cards for a wedding or special dinner.

Soap making

I was in a craft shop yesterday when I saw a soap making display. I couldn't resist having a go when I saw a starter kit on sale!

The kit has soap base, fragrance, moulds and flower/herbs that are dried.

Here is my soap after pouring it:

It looked a bit like marmalade!

It set very quickly and a couple of hours later could pop them out of the moulds:

Then I thought I should pretty them up:

I used Spice Cake papers and ribbon etc to decorate them. I'm really pleased with the result and may investigate making more!!
