Starting Owlets

When Munchkin started preschool in September I took lots of photos. The uniform is so darned cute that I was powerless to resist. We snapped pictures in the garden, driveway and at school.

The Orchard Harvest papers came into play, like yesterday, and explain the season. These papers are perfect for start of school type pages as they're quite bright and the leaves are very detailed.

Father & Son

Here is a photo I snapped of my FIL and DH one sunny day when we were on a miniture train at Frimley Lodge Park. I love the picture so it made sense to scrapbook it.

The papers are from the Autumn/Winter seasonal catalogue and are called Orchard Harvest. There's no real journalling but it would be easy enough to add if required. I always think the photo says everything, personally.

Another one for the family album!

Snow Festival cards (part 5)

Today is my final installment of Snow Festival cards:
This little owl is just so cute, I couldn't leave him out. The mittens were cut from a sheet with lots of rows of patterns, which makes it a but like a page of paper ribbons.

My final card is pretty similar but features mittens!

I hope you've enjoyed my festive mini-series. Feel free to email me if you'd like to purchase the products used or any others from the catalogues.

Check back soon!

Snow Festival Cards (part 4)

Here are some more jazzy cards that I came up with using the Snow Festival DSP:
The main image on this is printed. I didn't even have to punch out the birds! Love how simple and quick these cards are to make en masse. One set of papers would easily make 24 festive cards, so it's a bargain at just £9.95!

Tomorrow will feature the last set of Snow Festival Cards.

If you'd like to buy the Snow Festival papers, drop me an email and I'll add them to my next order. They are such a great set of papers and you can use lots of sentiment stamps you already own to make the cards.

Snow Festival cards (part 3)!

Today's cards use the same layout but give a very different finished result. The top one has a gingerbread house image on a nice snowy background, most Baja Breeze with a touch of Primrose Petals.
The second card copies the layout but has a Gumball Green base. Both share sentiments on the Modern Label punch from Teeny Tiny Sentiments

The star paper looks very Cath Kidston to me, which I love!

Snow Festival cards (part 2)

Today's pair of cards feature Snow Festival DSP (pg10, Seasonal Catalogue) as well as Snow Festival Designer Printed Tags and Homemade Holidays Stitched Felt (both pg 12, Seasonal catalogue)

The sentiment is from Polar Party. The best thing about these cards is that the felt topper can be removed and used as a tree decoration!

Snow Festival Cards (part 1)

The next couple of posts will feature a set of cards I made using the Snow Festival DSP (pg10, Seasonal Catalogue) for my October Christmas Stack class:
I love this background paper that's used on these cards. The top one has Baja Breeze as a base and the bottom one has Cherry Cobbler as it's base. The main images come on one 12x12" sheet of paper and can be chopped into 12 3x3" images which are perfect as card toppers.

The sentiment comes from Curly Cute which suits the fun image. Check back soon for more cards made with the Snow Festival papers.

For the Munchkin fans here is a picture of her and her Daddy at Finkley Down Farm on Sunday!

Party Favours

Yesterday was the party, which was great fun. To thank Munchkin's guests I made these cute favours:
They are Oreos coated in white chocolate and covered in sprinkles! Not terribly good for you, but a yummy treat.

The biscuits had a stick put through the icing in the centre before decorating. I got the sticks from Starbucks (they're coffee stirrers!). The finished favours were wrapped in small cello bags and had some ribbon added to keep them fresh.

The purpley coloured ones had Wisteria Wonder ribbon and the blueish ones had White Organza Ribbon.
Really quick and simple, but perfect for little ones to get involved with. Especially the cleaning up!!!

Owl Birthday card

Today my baby is THREE! I had to make her a special card to celebrate and as we're having an owl theme I thought this would fit the bill. It's a tri-fold shutter card, I believe. I googled the name and there are loads of different tutorials out there on how to make the base card. It was surprisingly quick and easy made using my Scor-pal and out of Pirouette Pink.
Here's a close-up of the "front". Although there isn't really a particular front once the card is out of the envelope. The colours used are Rich Razzleberry, Primrose Petals, Baja Breeze, Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight.

The birthday greeting is from Perfect Punches and is mounted on a stamped section from Everything Eleanor. The owl punch made decorating the card really easy and the googlie eyes I had left from a Halloween kit were ideal to make the owls look a bit funky.

Happy birthday to my little munchkin! Can't believe you're 3 already!!!!

Check back soon to see the party favours, cake and star birthday presents.

Time ticks by

Hello and happy Sunday! Can you believe it's the end of another week?! Well here is a card representing how fast time has been ticking by...

It features Clockworks and some yummy In Colors: Gumball Green and Midnight Muse. This was the same collage technique I used before but in a different colour combination than the note cards.

First Edition speciality DSP made it into the new catalogue (pg162) and this is great news as this paper set is super useful.

Hope you like the card. Are you doing anything nice today? I'm working in the morning and hope to do something with my lovely family in the afternoon if I'm not too pooped!

More returning products

Today's card is one we made at my Upline Natalie's training. It's such a cute card using paper that I didn't at first recognise... it's from Twitterpated! (pg119)

So yes, Twitterpated suite is back. Along with some additional products such as Flowering Flourishes, which make the quite even more appealing. This was combined with Apothacary Art, which has also returned (pg102). So happy about this as the framelits that coordinate are super useful.

The sentiment came from Teeny Tiny Sentiments (used to be called Teeny Tiny Wishes!) and some punches. It was fun trying out the diagonal Scorepal plate to make the Basic Grey section have a lattice effect.

The best part is how unexpected this project is when made from these products. The other side of the patterned paper than I would have originally gone for and a more subdued palette.

Scrapbook scraps

Having made a scrapbook page with Betsy's Blooms and the co-ordinating paper, Floral District, I had a small pile of scraps on my table, which is how this card came about.

Gumball Green is the base colour. On the white section I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from Perfect Punches (pg120) in Rich Razzleberry. By using a marker the outline oval was masked. A few Daffodil Delight blooms and jewels later plus some scraps of stitched Daffodil Delight ribbon and voila!

A sweet little card that was made using scraps!

Clockworks

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to go to a Leadership event that Stampin' Up! ran. It was an awesome day out and the best bit was getting a free stamp set! This one is called Clockworks (pg105).

We made these cute notecards and matching envelopes with some fab colours: Pool Party, Gumball Green, Calypso Coral, More Mustard and Basic Grey. The images all overlapped and made a sort of collage effect, which I love.

This isn't a stamp set I would have chosen at the top of my wishlist, but now I have started playing with it I am hooked! I'll have another card made with the same stamp set later this week.

Blooms in focus

Hello and Happy Wednesday!

Today's card was made with a sponging technique. The large blooms were stamped with Illuminate ink and embossed with Vanilla embossing powder (pg159). Smells divine!!!

Next, Tangerine Tango, Rich Razzleberry and Rose Red ink were sponged over to give a soft focus look. The illuminate ink makes the image really shimmery. This main panel was layered onto Shimmery White card with a piece of Tangerine Tango cardstock on top.

Do you recognise the sentiment? I was thrilled when I realised that the set You Are Loved had made it into the Main Catalogue (pg 24)!! I love the images and sentiments in the set. The words Sweet Friend were stamped in Rich Razzleberry ink onto a piece of vellum. This was wrapped around the main image and glued on at the back.

To finish, a few pearls and a strip of scallop dots ribbon in Elegant Eggplant added a bit of decoration. This makes a pretty versatile card as you could vary the colours and sentiments really easily to fit most occasions.

How have you been finding the new Main catalogue? I am still learning where everything is as 205 pages is a lot to take in!!! I'm loving the zoomed in photos and gorgeous projects too. My wishlist grows every time I look....

October Scrapbook Club

Tonight is my monthly scrapbooking class. This is the page we're making!

It features the stamp set Betsy's Blooms (pg72) in the Floral District Suite. It has matching paper, also called Floral District and a wheel which all co-ordinate together to make this page really easy to put together. The wheel is shown just under the photograph on the wide white strip. It was wheeled in Lucky Limeade and then Daffodil Delight and Rich Razzleberry markers added detail.

We are going to have fun with the jumbo sticky rounds from the Seasonal catalogue (pg 31) making our own floral embellishments with some Orchard Harvest fabric. The colours used are Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry and Lucky Limeade.

I hope everyone enjoys making this page. It's not too late to come along tonight at 7.30!
Check back tomorrow for more from Betsy's Blooms!
